When does better technology
lead to better outcomes?

I am Guanling Yang, a PhD candidate in Operations Management at the Simon Business School, University of Rochester.

I study how customers and firms respond to new technology—and how their decisions reshape service and energy systems. Using game theory and strategic queueing models, I explore questions in omnichannel services, generative AI, and electricity markets.

My research has been presented at leading academic conferences and is under review or revision at premier operations management journals. It has received finalist recognition in the MIF Summer Webinar Competition and the NYON Student Best Paper Award Competition.

I hold an MS in Supply Chain Management from Washington University in St. Louis and a BE in Energy Engineering from Chongqing University.
